In Celebration

Lis Harwood has made this flag for her husband.

"I made it for my beloved, Alan, who was 70 years old this weekend (but we are whispering that large number).  His favourite colour is deep red.  He saw me working on the flag but had no idea it was for him, only when I gave it to him on Sunday did he say that he'd particularly noticed it because of the colours but hadn't thought it might be for him, he loves it.  My prayers on it are for Love, Joy, Health and Long Life."

"I have added 5 flags to the group album but this one is very special to me, I made it for my Mother in law when she was very ill in hospital. Made from recycled denim jeans and other bits and bobs with hand embroidery."

For John

Today we hear from Maryly Matthewman

" This is our Prayer Flag Protect. We renamed it Wish Flag Project for John Bradley Thompson but the ideas are still the same.

John Bradley is a little boy currently at St. Jude's Hospital in Memphis receiving radiation and chemotherapy for a very rare brain tumor, DIPG.  We had our kick off day today with the Wish Flags and we gave out 85 flags and people were very generous in their donations. Many more flag kits are coming. Here are some of the flags.

John is in Memphis with his net at the ready to catch all the wishes."

prayers for Andy

Get Well Flags

Moira  Hill sends this update: "Here are all the flags together - I've sent them to my friend, and they're now hanging in his hospital room -  he's had the bone marrow transplant and doing well! He will be in the hospital for a few more days and then will need 3 months of follow-up care.

I left room on the last flag ("May I be happy") for people to write on it what makes them happy. He says that everyone who sees the flags is cheered by them."

love, health and prosperity

PROSPERITY prayer flag (for Joyce)

LOVE w/heart prayer flag (for Joyce)

HEALTH prayer flag (for Joyce)

Tina Wittmer writes "I made these three flags for a good friend's upcoming birthday. She has Parkinson's, so I wanted to send some good health wishes to her. The Love and Prosperity flags are general goodwill for a happy life and no financial struggles. Some of the flags include prints of my photos, hand carved stamps, and hand stitching. These were really a labor of love."

prayer flag for Health

Ileen here, I was inspired by Jamie Fingal and her quilt prayer flags. so I dug around in my hoard of fabrics and found this piece of 1" blocks I had done years ago. I added the sunflower and embroidered the word "health".  Sending prayers for many health issues these days.

Health and Recovery

Deborah O'Hare here. These flags are for a good friend of mine who is going through a tough time at the moment. She lives near me, by the sea, and I am hoping that the restorative powers of living by the coast will help her along her path to Health and Recovery.

They were done on a piece of fabric that spoke 'shoreline' to me and was exactly the right size to make two flags.
I am wishing Health and Recovery to anyone that is in need of it.
