it's been a while since i posted a flag.  but a swap at "the trodden path" got me going again.  i sometimes switch mediums and participate in lots of challenges so get side tracked sometimes.

i also read about the oceanside museum exhibition coming up in october and wanted to contribute to it too, so pulled out some unfinished fabric collages and completed it just in the nick of time.   this is the one i'll be submitting to the museum.

Flags in progress

i hadn't wanted to post my latest prayer flags so that others from around the world could also post a few of theirs in between.  but jane (one of the coordinators of this wonderful project) contacted me today to ask me to upload a few pictures of some of my other flags.  most are finished but a few are still in progress since i often switch mediums to break the routine a bit.

as you can see, i love the sacred heart motif and use it quite a bit in my fabric work.  both of these are still in the making: just need to mount the second one on a background fabric and add some wording.  the previous is still waiting for some black stitching for the detente of which i am out of at the moment.

hope you enjoy them and get some inspiration to make your own.

make someone happy, just one someone happy

Constanza Berger, AKA PereigineBlue here. I have been working on a few more prayer flags looking forward to the moment when they will all fly together in my garden. 

those of you who know me, have seen that i tend to use bright and happy colors

and recycled fabrics that i find in thrift stores which would otherwise cost a fortune.

thrift stores carry many XXL linen dresses and blouses for reasonable prices.  cutting them and washing them gives them a new life.  only recently have i discovered that you can also hand dye them at home with natural products from the kitchen.

there is one "selfish one"
but all the rest are pretty altruistic i believe.
time permitting, i hope to make a total of ten which i think makes a round number and will make a varied array on the line.


i must take this opportunity to congratulate each and every one of you who has so far participated in this project.
you are the inspiration behind my flags.
and ofcourse, the organizers who have perpetuated this tradition.


if anybody is short on fabric scraps, just send me a line; as a fabric junkie, i have boxes and boxes of it and could easily put together a care package.
