A flag for everyone who is sad
Janine Green created this beautiful prayer flag is for everyone who is sad. She writes "It is a prayer that from the heart of sorrow will come understanding and that all those who are sad will feel uplifted and a little happier."

make someone happy, just one someone happy
Constanza Berger, AKA PereigineBlue here. I have been working on a few more prayer flags looking forward to the moment when they will all fly together in my garden.
those of you who know me, have seen that i tend to use bright and happy colors
and recycled fabrics that i find in thrift stores which would otherwise cost a fortune.
thrift stores carry many XXL linen dresses and blouses for reasonable prices. cutting them and washing them gives them a new life. only recently have i discovered that you can also hand dye them at home with natural products from the kitchen.
this is the finished love flag
these are the original four there is one "selfish one" but all the rest are pretty altruistic i believe. time permitting, i hope to make a total of ten which i think makes a round number and will make a varied array on the line. i must take this opportunity to congratulate each and every one of you who has so far participated in this project. you are the inspiration behind my flags. and ofcourse, the organizers who have perpetuated this tradition. if anybody is short on fabric scraps, just send me a line; as a fabric junkie, i have boxes and boxes of it and could easily put together a care package. if you care to see my blog, the link is http://www.poramoralarte-folklorista.blogspot.com/ |

Flags from Dawn Collins
Dawn Collins joins us. Here's her first flag in memory of her pastor, Karen, to hang in a special flower garden in her honor.
Another, for Pastor Karen's memorial garden.
And one for her family, to hang in their own garden.

Creative Courage
Deborah O'Hare here. I recently took an on line e-course entitled Creative Courage. The title alone has inspired me. Sometimes all we need is the courage to do things.
I am assuming that you are here reading this because you are creative, or trying to be so.
These flags have been made to wish you all courage in your creative pursuits.

Beginnings
It has been some time since I (Linda Miller) created a flag for this project. A number of recent events in friends' lives inspired the making of this flag. Auspicious Beginnings came about to acknowledge the excitement, challenges, trepidation, and acceptance of new starts... a friend's daughter is getting married, others are redefining life after losing their mate or parent. There is grief, joy, confusion, hope and love in so many lives... beyond my small circle as well. My wish is that those new steps be met with openness, whatever the feelings may be.
I chose to add some images of Ganesh to this flag. In India, he is considered the remover of obstacles, and is praised at the beginning of every undertaking and journey. May his energy be of assistance.

For Mary
Jane LaFazio here. My 20th flag is for my friend Mary. I know I need to make a second one for her, with a message of healing and hope, for now, this is what I was feeling.

Believe you can beat it....
Juliet Ayer made this flag for her friend who is undergoing treatment for cancer. He had good results from his scan, as the chemotherapy has worked, however it did reveal something that needs further investigation, so he is going into hospital for a biopsy next week. He is naturally worried and disappointed that he didn't get the all clear, but I know he can get through this - he just needs to believe that he can beat it .
I've made it using some Kaffe Fassett patchwork fabric that a mutual friend found for me in a charity shop. The words are free-machined in a bright green, and the wooden heart charm is to emphasise that all of his friends are thinking of him and supporting him through this challenging time.
