Never Give Up

I just made a new Prayer Flag.

The prayer is "Never give up" and I hope my neighbor will draw force from it to keep on praying and 'fighting' his multiple health problems.

I am hoping everyone on the Prayer Flag blog will join in prayer with us.

The flag can be seen on my blog also where I explain in detail how I made it in both English and French.

Prayers for a Friend

 I made beads from gelliprinted scraps hung on glittery thread for a bit of sparkle like hope. In both flags I added bits of Tyvek ironed to get a great decorative effect. I added organza in one flag that I wrinkled by use of a heatgun.

I pray for her to have the courage to undergo surgery for reconstruction. 

I free motion machine stitched shell like patterns.

I wrote the words down in the normal way on a piece of fusible interfacing that i ironed back to front to get the mirror image on the back to do the free sewing correctly.

 Every stitch i made was a prayer for her. I hope she'll find a lot of courage to battle this treacherous disease.At the same time I hope that the prayers will be carried to those who also suffer and hope they will find the strength to cope with it.

I used a big, old nail I found somewhere for the hanging. Nails, as we sometimes see in old paintings, are supposed to be the symbol of great suffering.  I added ribbons to help the prayers to be swept along.

I created the black and white flower pattern by using a gelli plate to finish the back of the prayer flag.
